With my background working in one of the largest E-Procurement companies in North America, navigating the complex world of enterprise purchasing was something I was intimately familiar with. So, I took the first step and registered as a vendor with the district, marking the beginning of a hopeful journey.

Fast forward to three weeks ago, we received an invitation from the procurement manager to bid on the tender. The next two weeks were spent in intense preparation, culminating in the submission of our proposal. This moment was more than just a business opportunity; it was the realization of why Bevcounter was created. Our aim was to develop an AI security platform for schools, inspired by the tragic events at Sandy Hook in 2012. That event, which affected children the same age as my sons, moved me profoundly. It was a turning point that led me to pledge to make schools safer. Although AI was in its nascent stages then, the seed for change had been planted.
From Beverages to Security

However, the ultimate goal was always to apply this technology to enhance school security by detecting weapons, drugs, and instances of bullying. Another milestone we achieved this week was becoming the official sponsor of the Zimbabwe Sables, the national men's rugby team.
